Colchester has well attended senior training sessions on Monday and Friday evenings, that can, on occasion attract 25-30 senior players.

Senior Training Sessions

The senior training sessions usually follow a similar format, and usually incorporate theory and randori. A usual Friday evening training session might well be based around the following example

Warm up and stretch
Ne-Waza Randori
Theory or technique
Koka training or Randori
Warm down

Traditionally Mondays have been more biased towards technique and theory and Fridays towards randori, however, both classes are usually quite challenging and will certainly test your fitness levels.

Try Judo for free

If you have never tried Judo before, then why not come along and give it a try, your first training session will be free! No fees or other commitments. (Grading and competition entry will require membership to the BJA)

Judo is a great way of keeping fit and making friends. If you feel that you need a competitive element to your keep-fit then the opportunities to participate local and national competitions are very good.

Mat fees and Discounts

Our standard Mat Fee for seniors is £4.00 (1.5 hour session). We are able to offer a discounted fee of £3.00 to students (NUS card required), the unemployed (proof required) and parents with a quartely fee paying child.

Licences

Senior members are required to have membership to the British Judo Association or an Affiliated Association which provides Insurance Cover and Personal Liability Insurance. A new Senior Licence has an annual cost of £32 and a renewal licence costs £31

Judo Suits

High quality Blitz Judo suits can be purchased direct from the Club, a basic suit costs £24, a Gold standard suit costs £42, a blue/white reversible suits costs £46 and replacement trousers cost £14.
